In collaboration with the Cinéma Les Lobis, Blois Danse Festival is offering a film screening & discussion around the documentary "Dancing For Growing - One Year with the Ballet Preljocaj Junior" by Julien Bengel .
About the documentary:
Each year, auditions to join the Ballet Preljocaj Junior, founded by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj in Aix-en-Provence, attract dancers from across Europe aged 17 to 20. After an extremely rigorous selection process, only twelve are chosen to take part in an exceptional year-long training program within this prestigious contemporary dance company.
This documentary follows the young dancers throughout a year filled with experiences and challenges.
It gives audiences an inside look at what a junior ballet company is and the path required to become a professional dancer.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Jonathan Breton, director of Festival Blois Danse, choreographer of AZOTH Dance Theatre, and founder of Jeune Ballet 41 : a regional initiative for young people launched in 2025.
